Break!

Posted by: Jason, Kelly and Tanner

So, exams are finally over. We got iced in for about 3 days prior to my last exam. The ice storm came on Saturday night and we were stuck in the house until Wednesday. Actually I think Jason went to work on Tuesday but my school was still closed. A friend of ours, Michelle, stayed with us b/c her power went out during the storm. She finally got power on Friday night...how crazy is that??!!

So now I have a 4 week break and my goal is to not spend money. With one income we knew it would be tough but we weren't sure how tough. I just can't thank Jason enough for this opporunity he is helping me achieve!

So Tanner has been sick for about a week and a half now. It started as a cold, then an ear infection in both ears, then to his lungs and now a cold again. It's really freaking me out b/c this is only the second time he's been sick and I swear it won't go away. Once the snotty nose went away and it got in his lungs we thought it would clear up after we got the inhaler. Now it's another cold and we are hoping it doesn't go through the cycle again. I'm a nervous wreck, as always. We are suppose to head to Birmingham on Wednesday night and with him being sick I'm dreading the drive and the "vacation." However, it will be nice to see everyone and for everyone to meet Tanner. My dad hasn't seen him yet, so that will be neat for them to meet him. My mom has come out to Arizona and Oklahoma to see him...she's so awesome!!

So, now I just sit around waiting for my grades to see if I passed or not. If I don't pass, I'll be shocked but that's how it goes. I just want to graduate, pass the bar and start this career finally! I just feel like I've gotten a really late start in my career path. I was lost for so long in what I wanted to do, I really had no clue and now about 8 months before I turn 30 I'm finally seeing the light! I guess its better I figured it out at some point than never at all!

So I'll try to post more on my break, hopefully I'll have wonderful news that my precious baby boy is well and into everything again!!!

Almost Done with this semester

Posted by: Jason, Kelly and Tanner

So, I'm almost completed with my first semester of law school. I have one more exam on Wednesday...Torts! It's been pretty rough. Studying 12 hours plus a day, not seeing Jason or Tanner but maybe an hour a day. I know it will all be worth it. Sunday mornings have been our family time since the school library doesn't open until 1pm. I've enjoyed every minute I have with them.

Come Wednesday, I'm a full time wife and mom again and I can't wait! We can go meet Daddy for lunch if we want, go hang out at the mall, go to wal-mart and buy more things Tanner doesn't need!!! I'm excited to have NOTHING planned!!

So let's talk Tanner!

He has four teeth and another we can see on the way. He can stand on his own, but only holding on to something. He crawls when he wants but still mainly rolls to get where he needs to get. He's an awesome baby, hardly complains. When he's sick I want to hold him and take care of him, and could care less. He had a cold and an ear infection and it was like he didn't skip a beat. He was more tired but not too bad to be around, I was shocked.
He eats like a champ, we give it to him, he puts it in his mouth, chews it up and continues on his way. Of course, Jason has to feed him big people food. I refuse. I have this TERRIBLE fear of him chocking so I can't do it. Jason will give him peas, carrots, anything that he can chew and he does it. So thankfully we have Daddy to allow him to learn and grow properly! Mom is too much of a scaredy cat to do that! :)
Well...I better get back to studying...I'll post more on my time off! I'm very much looking forward to it!

STRESS!!!

Posted by: Jason, Kelly and Tanner

BLAH!! I'm swimming in stress!! My exams are creeping up on me. First week of December and they are here! I"m a mess....what if I don't pass...what if I barely pass...it's really starting to get to me.
I can see now why people are so stressed in law school. The first couple of months are good but when you start having all your papers due and need time to study, it gets rough. I have to say I know how to take notes that work, of course I JUST figured that out this week. So if I do make it to the next semester, I'll know how to get it done! I'll be ready! :)
My weekends are GONE now...yup...study study study...that's what I'm going to be doing until the December 11th!

Tanner and Jason are doing great! This post was all about a stress release for me!!

I CAN DO IT!!! :)

November is here

Posted by: Jason, Kelly and Tanner

Ok, I love November and for only one reason, it's our anniversary! Yup..it will be 4 years on the 18th! Crazy how time flies and where life takes you.

Halloween wasn't the great wonderful holiday I invisioned! I had class, I could skip but I always feel to guilty to do that, what if I miss something. I'm paying WAY too much for this education to miss out. So Jason took Tanner to the zoo with some friends, and since we have our two top teeth coming in (well I can only see one right now), it was a great adventure. Plus Jason forgot the camera, so we have no pictures of my pumpkin. Yes, he was a pumpkin. Sorry but we are on a limited budget right now...with only one of us working and the other spending more than the other is making in school, it's rough!
I wish I had all kinds of news to report. Tanner is rolling all over the floor now. We had to take out our coffee table and basically clear the living room so he can roll freely! He is so funny! His two top teeth are coming in, well I can only see one and hope that the other is not far behind. We wish he would crawl, we feel like he's behind or something but I guess we just need to let him grow at his own pace and not be so concerned, he does make changes and grow so we must be doing something right!
Well off to study study study!!

Shots Shots and More Shots

Posted by: Jason, Kelly and Tanner

How many shots can my little man get? Ok so he got some when he was born, then again at like 2 or 3 months, then at 4 and 6 now the flu shot! I'm freaking out! How can this little body hold so much?
I have been going back and forth with the flu shot. So I ended up getting mine yesterday (first) and Tanner's today. I have to be turning into my mother, I am so paranoid about everything. Not to say that Mom is paranoid but I want to protect my little baby from anything and everything. So the flu shot is a catch 22. Do I get the shot and risk him getting sick from the shot or do I not get him the shot and risk him getting the flu!!

So we ended up taking him to get the shot. Since I'm in school and around a bunch of people and Jason at work is around a bunch of people, it was probably safer to try and prevent the flu. So tomorrow morning if he wakes up with no illness I will be thankful in my decision. I do know that he can still get the flu but hopefully this keeps the chances down!

Ok..all you with babies...did you get them the flu shots??? I know my sis is giving her one year old the flu shot and her 10 and 11 year olds. Her husband HAS to get it....so I'm not the only one putting their child through this chance. So tell me please!
Steph...is Drew getting the flu shot....what bout you Leigh...is Edie getting the flu shot! Of course it's too late now to turn back but I still like to hear what other moms did or are going to do!

So I'm turning into my mother...which is fine with me...I do love my mom!!

Another addition to the family (not from me)

Posted by: Jason, Kelly and Tanner

My nephew turned one on Saturday and I had a new neice arrive Sunday! Our family keeps growing.

So between Jason and I we have 9 neices and nephews!! I just realized all our siblings have 3 kids but us! :) Only time will tell!

We do want more kids, at least one more but the plan is after I graduate or I should say after I pass the bar. We'll start trying again. However, it took us 3 years to get this little bundle of joy, maybe we should start now! :)

Tanner has a cold, poor guy. Doesn't seem to be too much of an issue at this point. Runny nose and a little more tired than usual but so far that's it. Fingers crossed that's all we have. I hate when he's sick b/c I just want the world to stop so I can make him better. This is only the second time he's been sick so I'm guessing that's pretty good. Every since he was born I have been germ crazy. I wash my hands ALL the time, wash everything in HOT HOT HOT water. His bottles get hand washed b/c I don't trust the dishwasher. Yet I'm ok with the dishwasher washing MY dishes! Go figure!

Nothing much to report, the weeks are flying by with school. Those exams will be on me so quick. I'm really getting nervous. I think I have anxiety dreams more and more often. I just have to get through this first set of exams and then I'll know what to expect from here on out. Anticipation is a strong feeling!

The picture posted is one of my favorites! My two favorite people....it doesn't get better than that!

Pacifier

Posted by: Jason, Kelly and Tanner

Just wanted to post this YouTube video of Tanner. He is so funny with that pacifier. We love to watch him do this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQGPzCQDZY0

If you go, vote, make commets etc. Also there are a bunch of other videos we've downloaded as well!

Why the blog?

Posted by: Jason, Kelly and Tanner

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother posting on this thing. Do people actually read it? Do people actually care?

Well if nothing else I get to brag about my beautiful family and how lucky we are! :)

So this weekend was the big OU v Texas football game. It was in Texas, so we thought, let's go to the zoo! Seriously, what a great idea. Hardly anyone was there. I didn't think I would see anyone with OU on but we did. I have never been to a state that is more crazy about college football. I know Alabama is crazy but this city...I just can not explain it. People are in OU head to toe ALL THE TIME! So all I have to say on the subject is Roll Tide!

So our zoo trip was a lot of fun. Tanner seemed to like the "kitties" and the gorillas! He watched the gorillas like he was so confused. It was a lot of fun to watch him see new things.
I'm half way through the semester, or a little more so. They are starting to talk about exams and outlines, studying, etc. I'm getting pretty nervous. I'm starting to have anxiety dreams I'm so nervous.
I was told by someone, names are not said to protect the guilty, that I wouldn't make it through law school with a baby. That line rings in my head everyday. It's my motivation to do my best and prove that person wrong. It was a slap in the face yet the motivation I needed. Now I know it wasn't said to motivate, it was said b/c this person is just RUDE! Regardless, I'm going to do my best and if that doesn't get me through then I just wasn't meant to become a lawyer. That is something that will be hard to swallow but I do have a lot of people that love me no matter what and that's all I need in my life! :)
But enough of that crap...I'm going to work hard and I'm going to get through this! :)
Well I do hope some people out there do read these and if any of you have blogs please let me know, I would love to read them! :)

Same Ole Stuff

Posted by: Jason, Kelly and Tanner

So, I wish I had something to report but all is pretty much the same around here. Work, School and Tanner! Life is good!

Tanner is trying all kinds of new foods which is always a fun time for Daddy! I think that is Jason's favorite thing to do, watch Tanner's reaction to new things.

School is going well, I'm half way through the semester. Which is actually pretty scary. That means I have exams coming up and you only get one chance to pass the class!!! Freaks me out a little but I really feel I'm putting forth the effort and getting a lot in return.

We went to an Alpaca Farm this weekend. It was pretty neat to see those animals up close. We got to touch them and really see what they are like. Tanner loves the cats and dogs so we thought for sure he would get all excited, but he didn't. He did fall asleep on the way there, so we are hoping he was just tired. Mommy and Daddy had a good time!

We also had some friends over to play poker this weekend. We had a good time. I lost and Jason won some, so we came out even. Not a bad way to end. We are going to start planning game night with a food night as well. We'll pick a type of food and everyone will bring something in that range. Plus play games, it should be a lot of fun.

I had a speech yesterday in one of my voluntary classes I'm taking. I talked about Ovarian Cancer. I was happy that I was able to have that opportunity to still discuss this, since it is something I am very passionate about.
Well that's all I have for now! Any suggestions on food would be greatly appreciated.

Sucked In

Posted by: Jason, Kelly and Tanner

Well, we have been sucked into myspace!! AAHH!! I remember when it first came out and I was like, it's just another internet dating, so I avoided it.

Well recently I have found out that some of my best friends from B'ham are there and chatting and I'm missing out.

So I have put Jason and I out there now, I do love posting more pictures of Tanner.

It makes me miss everyone even more. I hate we arne't there raising our kids together, Michelle, Julia, Jennifer....but that's life!

Besides our new myspace issue, all is going well. Tanner is now 6 months old. I just can't get over how quickly he's growing up. It's so much fun to watch him learn new things and see things for the first time, it's the most amazing thing I have ever seen.

I got an email from my best friend Missy that I would like to paste to this posting, it is so true! Thanks Missy!!

Before I was a Mom

I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.

I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.

I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.

Pooped on.

Chewed on.

Peed on.

I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.

I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could dotests.

Or give shots.

I never looked into teary eyes and cried.

I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

I never sat up late hours at night watching a babysleep.

Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't wantto put him down.

I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.

I never knew that something so small could affect mylife so much.

I never knew that I could love someone so much.

I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside mybody.

I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.

I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.

I didn't know that something so small could make me feelso important an d happy.

Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every10 minutes to make sure all was okay.

I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, theheartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before Iwas a Mom.

Is that not awesome???

To all the moms who read my silly blog!!

Fussy Butt

Posted by: Jason, Kelly and Tanner

Well we now have TWO teeth! We figured as much. Everyone has told us that they normally come in around the same time. We are hoping that was the cause of our Fussy Butt yesterday. Nothing pleased him...and I mean nothing but that stupid pacifier. Which we thought we were giong to try and slowly get rid of. Wow, that was funny on our part. We are torn, do we just go cold turkey and suck it up or do we wait it out longer and then do it later?

Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated!

Other than our little man having the blues all is well in the Pruden House. We are planning another poker night this weekend. We have some people from my school and some from Jason's work. It should be a lot of fun. We had game night with some friends a few weeks ago and that was a lot of fun. We'll have to do that again, make it a monthly event if possible.

My little niece called me Friday night to tell me she made homecoming princess! Are you kidding me? I was so happy for her. She sounded so excited about it, and I couldn't have been happier for her. So Congrats my Doodlebug! Doodlebug is my nickname for her, I have no idea when or how it started but the poor child at even 9 will still answer when I say it, you gotta love that!
One last thing, Tanner LOVES the cats, and I mean loves the cat. His eyes get all big and this huge smile just fills his face. It is just amazing to watch him watch the cats. As you can see in the picture, he would do anything to get his hands on goolaush. Actually goo doesn't really seem to mind him that much, NOW! Just wait in a few months, thankfully the cat is declawed!
Until next time! :)

Tooth

Posted by: Jason, Kelly and Tanner

Well it happened, we finally got our first tooth! We are so excited, of course now that means he can hurt when he bites. Anyway, Tanner's first tooth finally reared it's head this morning. We could see the swelling and even see the tooth in his gums, but it finally broke free! YEAH!

Daddy was ready to rush home from work this morning to see it but he stayed and figured it wasn't going anywhere, he would see it when he picked him up from the sitter!

So, another milestone hit, we are happy our precious boy is growing!!

Been a while

Posted by: Jason, Kelly and Tanner

Well, it has been a while since I last posted. We have been so busy. Ok, mostly me studying but time is just flying by.
Jason got a new job at work, YEAH! I am still in law school (I find that impressive myself) and Tanner is doing the norm of making us smile everyday.
We went to the OK state fair last night. Tanner loved it, he didn't cry once, we had to force feed him almost, he would rather look at everything else. We did the Olde Timey pictures (however you spell that). It came out soooo cute! We loved it!

Jason is finished with that house he was working on. He went today to do some last minute landsacping and whatnots. It looks so good. Now if we can get it sold and make some money we'll be doing good!

Tanner is rolling over from his belly to his back like a champ. We felt so lucky b/c he started sleeping through the night at 2 months. UNTIL recently, now he likes to get up about 5 times a night for NO reason except for Mommy to get up and give him his pacifer and roll him back over. Yes we are those terrible parents that allow our baby to sleep on his belly. That's how he slept through the night. Also we have a monitor under his mattress, so if he stops breathing an alarm will sound. Just so you know, it has false alarms and if that won't get you out of bed in half a second I don't know what does. I honestly think I could have ran a marathon not to mention how I man handled Jason out of my way to get to him.
He is also sitting up pretty good on his own. We are just hoping for that crawling to happen any day now!
All in all, he's wonderful and we are loving every minute we spend with him. I can't imagine my life without him.
Well off to you know what...STUDY!
Don't be afraid to post us a comment! :)

Miss you all

Another week into law school! Things are going well here in OK City. I'm keeping up with all the work and starting to understand a lot of what's going on. That must be good...unless I'm just so out of touch and have no clue! Only time will tell.

Our little Pruden has been constipated (I'm sure he'll appreciate me telling everyone). It's been rough and we are still working out the "kinks." Poor kid, I hate to see him in any pain.

Jason and his friend Bryan are almost done with the house they are fixing up. It's just amazing. The day we went to take pictures of the before my batteries died, of course. So not many people will ever really know all the work they put into it. Let me just say...it's A LOT of work and they did an AWESOME job!!

Last night Tanner went to his first baseball game, it was pretty interesting. He watched like he had a clue about what was going on. He seemed to have a great time. And of course mommy and daddy loved everyone telling us how cute he is...just makes you feel so good you made something so dang cute. Honestly, babies are cute no matter what anyway!

We are all excited about the long labor day weekend! More time to spend with our little man!!

Miss you all and hope to hear from you soon!

Another week down

Posted by: Jason, Kelly and Tanner

Well it's another week of law school down! It seems to be going well for me, I hope it continues! Not too much new here this week.

Jason is working on fixing up a house with a friend, they are almost done. It's been a long project, well I say long and we've only been here 2 months. Regardless, it takes up a lot of his time. Most nights I'm not at school we go to the house so Jason can see what we look like! It's been a good experience and it is coming to an end here soon. I'm really proud of him and all the hard work he put into that house. It's a world of difference. It's just amazing to watch the process. So we are exicted that he will be home more with it being done!

Tanner is starting to move a little more when he's on his tummy. In his bed it's like he gets up and dances and moves in a million different ways. Everytime I go check on him he's in a different place, it's so cute to see him roll around like that. Ok, I say roll but not literally rolling. We only have the tummy to the back movement at this point.

He is going to physical therapy for his neck, we start going every week, starting today. We are hoping his neck is 100% normal within a few weeks. That is our plan at least! So fingers crossed! To us you can barely tell but we look at pictures we take and can still see the tilt.
Tanner will be 5 months old tomorrow! YEAH!!

Just a quick note, I miss my girls and Judge at the court in Parker! You ladies ROCK! :) I can't wait to come back and visit and see all your smiling faces!!

We miss everyone and we'll chat soon!!!

Please leave comments...we love to hear from everyone! :)

First week complete

Posted by: Jason, Kelly and Tanner

Well we have a class that is a one credit, one week class! Today was the last day and yet the begining for all the other classes. I feel that I'm suppose to be here so that must mean something good, right!?
Tanner seems to be doing great at his new sitters house! Jason is doing well at work, so that leaves me to do well in school!

Oh and I'm 29 today! One more year in my 20's kinda a scary notion! My wondeful and loving husband got me a beautiful necklace with our son's birthstone on it. I LOVE it!

Tanner is growing like a weed, he's turnig over more and talking up a store. Tannese is the language and we are slowly figuring it out! :)

Well off to study!!

Kelly's first day of school

Posted by: Jason, Kelly and Tanner

Today I start law school. I'm sorta in shock about the whole thing. It started as an idea and now a reality!
Jason has been so supportive, I don't think I would be here without him!
Tanner goes to his sitter today, which is always hard to drop him off but I know this entire experience will be worth it to him in the end. It's only 3 years in order to give him, well us a better life.
Hopefully Jason and I can keep this blog going so everyone is able to keep up with us. At the rate we move we need something stable for everyone else!
